Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons

The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons has granted Three-Year Approval with Commendation to Palos Community Hospital's cancer program. Approval by this organization is given to those programs that have voluntarily committed to providing the highest level of quality of cancer care and that undergo rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.

Blue Cross Blue Shield

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care. Blue Distinction Centers for Cardiac Care demonstrate their commitment to quality care, resulting in better overall outcomes for cardiac patients. PCH meets evidence-based clinical criteria, developed in collaboration with expert physicians' and medical organizations, including the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and is subject to periodic re-evaluation as criteria continue to evolve.

Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories

Palos Community Hospital's (PCH) Echocardiography Laboratory and the Lab at the Primary Care Center in Orland Park were granted accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL). This is one of the first among 1,000 echocardiography laboratories in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico to be so recognized for its commitment to high quality patient care and its provision of quality diagnostic testing.

American Diabetes Association

The Palos Community Hospital Diabetes Program has been awarded continued Recognition from the American Diabetes Association (ADA). The multidisciplinary program first received accreditation in 1997. Compliance with the National Standards ensures greater consistency in the quality and quantity of education offered to people with diabetes.

The Electrodiagnostic (EDX) Laboratory at Palos Community Hospital is one of two in Illinois and one of only 30 in the United States to receive Exemplary Laboratory Accreditation status from the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM).
