Palos Medical Group Announces Behavioral Health Services

With the addition of four board-certified psychiatrists to its growing family of physicians, Palos Medical Group (PMG) is pleased to introduce Behavioral Health to its list of comprehensive healthcare services. Drs. Adnan Arif, Mona Lal, Mark Sinibaldi and James Smedegard bring more than 70 years of clinical experience to PMG’s new Behavioral Health Services.

Dr. Adnan Arif comes to Palos Medical Group from Community Health Systems in northwestern Indiana, where he served as Medical Director for the department of Psychiatry in a multi-hospital healthcare system. He received his medical degree from Dow Medical College, Pakistan, and completed his residency and a fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine at Cleveland Clinic, OH. Dr. Arif practices adult and geriatric psychiatry, and has a special interest in anxiety disorders.

Dr. Mona Lal received her medical degree from The Aga Khan University and Medical College, Pakistan, and completed her residency at The University of Chicago Hospitals. Dr. Lal comes to Palos Medical Group from Regional Community Mental Health Center and St. Catherine’s Hospital in northwestern Indiana. Dr. Lal joined Professional Health Associates, Ltd., a group psychiatric practice in Palos Heights, and began her affiliation with Palos Community Hospital in 2011. Dr. Lal treats a variety of psychiatric conditions in adults and has a special interest in women’s health.

Dr. Mark Sinibaldi brings nearly 40 years of clinical psychiatric experience to Palos Medical Group. He received his medical degree and completed his residency at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, Maywood. Dr. Sinibaldi comes to PMG from Professional Health Associates, Ltd., a group psychiatric practice in Palos Heights. He has been affiliated with Palos Community Hospital for 20 years, where he has served as the Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry since 1993. Dr. Sinibaldi specializes in adult psychiatric conditions.

Dr. James Smedegard has been practicing medicine for 24 years. He completed his residency in Psychiatry at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, followed by a fellowship in Child Psychiatry at the University of Illinois-Institute for Juvenile Research, Chicago. He received his medical degree from Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico. Dr. Smedegard comes to Palos Medical Group from Professional Health Associates, Ltd., an independent psychiatric practice in Palos Heights. He has been affiliated with Palos Community Hospital for 16 years, and he specializes in treating both adult and child psychiatric conditions.
