Cancer Rehabilitation

Our comprehensive program—staffed by specially trained and certified therapists—provides personalized treatment options that recognize you as a whole person and focus on improving your quality of life. Whether you’ve had surgery or are undergoing other oncology treatments, you’ll start with a baseline assessment of your strength, endurance, flexibility and range of motion.

Team Approach to Care

Throughout your time with us, you’ll benefit from our team approach to care, which means our rehabilitation therapists regularly collaborate with your medical care team and nurse navigator—as well as our social services team, registered dietitians and behavioral health professionals—to create a cancer rehab program specially designed for you. You may also take advantage of consultations with our skilled physical, speech and occupational therapists as you need them.

Certified Professionals Deliver Expert Services

As you go through chemotherapy, radiation therapy or surgery, you’ll want to take advantage of an exercise program customized for you by our expert therapists and certified clinicians, who use evidence-based strategies. They understand your cancer and its side effects.

“Patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiation and surgery can benefit from an exercise program,” says Alicia Klabunde, manager of Women’s Health & Oncology Rehab and Certified Clinician. “Research reveals that exercise helps cancer patients in numerous ways. Individuals in the early stages of diagnosis, halfway through treatment or at the end of cancer therapy, can benefit from a customized program to ease fatigue and pain, and improve muscle strength and endurance. They’re also more likely to move to the next phase of rehabilitation faster.”

Complete Lymphedema Management

In addition, our lymphedema therapists—certified in Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) by the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA)—provide you with a range of non-invasive skills to manage any swelling that may result from your condition and treatments.
