Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine provides a safe and painless way to diagnose and treat diseases by using small amounts of radioactive materials (radiopharmaceuticals). The procedure often identifies abnormalities early in the disease process, long before many medical problems are apparent with other diagnostic tests. The amount of radiation in a typical nuclear imaging procedure is comparable with that received during a diagnostic X-ray and is always kept within safe limits.
