Behavioral Health Services

At Palos, our Behavioral Health Services are designed to meet the needs of individuals and families that are struggling with relationship problems, emotional issues, psychological disorders and even substance use disorders. We understand that it is often difficult to take the first steps needed to ask for help. So let us take it with you.

Online Mental Health Screening

Take our anonymous online mental health or alcohol screening.

We offer a full continuum of Behavioral Health Services, and our skilled, experienced staff use evidence-based practices that we continually look to improve on. We provide a variety of programs to support our patients in a way that best fits them, including substance abuse, group and kids therapy.  We also offer services that include inpatient and outpatient treatment and mental health screenings.  Learn more about how we can help and why you should choose Palos Behavioral Health Services.

As part of our commitment to the community, we offer presentations on behavioral health topics that we think are relevant to the community. To obtain a schedule of upcoming presentations, watch for Perspective magazine or the Vitality calendar of events. These publications are mailed to community residents. You also may check Classes and Events or call Palos Community Hospital's Community Education Call Center at (708) 226-2300.

Behavioral Health Visitation

Care of the patients in our Behavioral Health Department is distinct and designed to ensure optimal care. For that reason, the visiting hours are also distinct. Our visiting hours are planned around the schedule of therapeutic activities. We believe that involving those significant others whose support strengthens our patients and helps prepare them for discharge and ongoing recovery.

Visiting times are: 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily.
Two visitors are allowed at a time. Overnight visitors and visiting in patient rooms is not allowed. Younger children, under the age of 12, must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times and may only visit for 30 minutes during Sunday/Holiday visiting hours.
