Cardiac Tests & Treatments at Palos

Palos Community Hospital's Cardiovascular Services are designed to meet the diverse needs of our community. Combining skilled, experienced staff with state-of-the-art technology, Palos provides a total continuum of cardiovascular services - from diagnosis and treatment through recovery and rehabilitation - to ensure that community residents receive all of the care they'll need close to home.

Prevention

Your heart care doesn't need to begin with a diagnosis of heart disease. Our ongoing community education programs, lectures, events and screenings can help you learn about your risks for heart disease and the steps you can take now to manage them.

Cardiac Risk Assessments

We also offer two levels of Cardiac Risk Assessment to help identify key risk factors for disease and present a roadmap for continued cardiac health.

Level 1

The Level 1 Cardiac Risk Assessment includes:

  • Physician-reviewed Stress Test
  • Total Blood Glucose and Cholesterol Profile (blood draw after 12-hour fast required)
  • Body Fat Analysis
  • Family History/Health Risk Appraisal
  • Detailed Cardiac Risk Report

Level 2

The Level 2 Cardiac Risk Assessment includes all of the above services except the physician-reviewed stress test.

Calcium Scoring Test

A calcium scoring test, available through our Radiology Department, is a special CT screening that identifies plaque in the arteries, a major contributor to cardiac disease. To schedule a calcium scoring test, call (708) 827-2030.
