The Maternity Care Team at Palos

Your newborn is in great hands at Palos Community Hospital. We believe in mother-baby nursing care, in which our new mothers and their newborns receive care from the same registered nurse. Our nurses have been extensively educated in the care of both mother and baby through all phases of the birth process.

Lactation Center

The registered nurses who staff our Lactation Center are all International Board Certified Lactation Consultants, and they provide professional and personalized education and support, as well as ongoing assistance, for establishing and maintaining a successful nursing relationship.

Neonatal Special Care Unit 

And our fully staffed Level II Neonatal Special Care Unit offers onsite neonatologists for medical emergencies.
