Outpatient Services and Procedures

Palos offers many of our services and procedures on an outpatient basis as a convenience to our patients.

Laboratory & Radiology

Many laboratory services, including routine blood draws and urinalyses, can be performed without an appointment. However, most require a physician's order. Other services, including surgical testing, require an appointment.

Palos Community Hospital

Palos Community Hospital provides many of the essential tests on an outpatient basis:

Palos Primary Care Center in Orland Park 

Palos Primary Care Center in Orland Park also offers many laboratory services, including blood draws, urine specimen and cultures, as well as diagnostic X-rays, PET scans, CTs, EKGs, and pre-surgical testing.

Palos Immediate Care Center in Palos Heights 

Palos Immediate Care Center in Palos Heights performs diagnostic X-rays, in addition to Immediate Care services.

Digital Screening Mammography and Ultrasound

Palos Community Hospital and Palos Primary Care Center in Orland Park both offer digitial screening mammograms and ultrasounds. Diagnostic mammograms are available only at PCH.

Cardiology/Cardiac Rehabilitation

  • Stress tests and echocardiograms are available by appointment at Palos Community Hospital. A physician order is required.
  • Heart Risk Assessments can be scheduled by call (708) 226-2430.
  • EKGs can be performed at Palos Community Hospital and the Palos Primary Care Center in Orland Park.
  • Cardiac Rehabilitation is offered at the Palos Primary Care Center in Orland Park.

Nutrition/Weight Management Services

Nutrition and weight management services are available at the Palos Primary Care Center in Orland Park. Diabetes education and weight management are offered through our Nutrition Counseling and Diabetes Program by calling (708) 226-2330. Outpatient Behavioral Health
